The Youth Center, as part of the GRYN, is a free, fun and respectful space for those 12-18 to drop-in or be a part of all of our programs.
All activities are free for youth ages 12-18.

- The Maker space: This is new thanks to our “Revive and Thrive” Project funded by the Columbia Basin Trust.
It is open during drop-in sessions and special workshops throughout the year. It hosts a sewing machine, paper mache, paint and canvas, fabric, mannequin and patterns for making clothes. The Maker Space is there for your imagination; bring wearable art, costumes, and stuffed creatures to life.
- Jam Night: Local musicians will host and guide aspiring talent during jam night. Instruments and sound equipment is provided or personal gear can be hooked up to our existing sound system. All levels and genres are welcome with an emphasis on a safe and supportive audience.
- Movie Night: A large screen, comfortable seating and popcorn are provided.

5pm-7pm: “Revive and Thrive”: Upcycling for our Climate Action Project
This project is a response to climate issues. Participants will have opportunities to take part in workshops that teach them how to upcycle old and used material. Pre-registration is preferred, drop-ins are welcome. Maker Space Open

3:30-5:30: Art with Sarah: Sarah is a savvy creative who loves sharing her talents. She is available during this time to help participants learn new skills. Drop-In
6pm-8pm: Jam Session with Echoes of Rock: These guys continue to build their repertoire and practice for upcoming events.

THURSDAY’S
3:30-5pm: Magic the Gathering with Stewart Drop-In
This is an informal activity designed for beginners who are interested in learning how to play or those interested in practicing to build confidence. Our leaders are supportive, patient and experienced and have a lot of knowledge to share about the game. Come and learn more, build confidence and prepare for other local events. This free event includes weekly prizes.

FRIDAY’S
3:30-5pm: Chill’n Chat: Games, music, snacks and hang outs. Drop-In
5pm-7pm: FRIDAY NIGHT FUN! We plan karaoke, open mic, bowling events, movie night and more on Friday’s! (Pre-registration is required for bowling.)

Golden Youth Centre Shared Space: Any group, business or individual is encouraged to contact the Youth Centre to use the space. The space is centrally located downtown with large windows to generate public awareness. Everything can be moved to fit specific needs. We have a lounge area for comfortable gatherings, tables that join to create business style meetings, projector and screen for presentations, easy to use sound board with hanging speakers and Wi-Fi. There is also a kitchen area with fridge, sink and appliances.
