Golden Secondary School

GOLDEN SECONDARY SCHOOL offers English and French Immersion Programs for Grades 8 to 12.

Our school has an experienced and dedicated staff. Students have access to the full range of provincial curriculum, including French Immersion courses, and locally developed curriculum that is engaging and relevant. Support teams monitor student programs and facilitate transition to colleges, universities, or the workforce when students complete the secondary school program. Our students have the opportunity to study academic subjects that adhere to current B.C. Ministry guidelines. In addition, we offer learning opportunities in Outdoor Education, Photography, Digital Media, Metalwork, Personal Fitness, Music (Choral and Concert Band), Woodwork, Home Economics, and Automotive.

Students can participate in team sports, rock climbing, cross country and downhill skiing, mountain biking, golfing, music, drama, and art activities. There is something for everyone. Currently, we offer an Outdoor Education Academy, where students are immersed in outdoor field experiences. These students will complete four ministry approved courses through this program.

A beautiful school building houses networked classrooms and science labs, a gathering area called the Forum, as well as a learning commons that reflects 21st century learning. We have running and walking trails surrounding our school, as well as a courtyard with picnic tables for outside studying, eating, and socializing.

Golden Secondary School welcomes many international students each year. Their addition to our school community and, more broadly to Golden, provides opportunities for life long cross-cultural friendships to grow.
